Fr. James Martin,S.J. will speak on Laughing with God - Joy, Humor and Laughter in the Spiritual Life

Who said that being Catholic means being gloomy all the time? Father James Martin, author of the bestselling My Life with the Saints, will share his ten reasons why joy, humor and laughter are essential elements of a healthy spirituality, and how the saints used humor to help them lead joyful Christian lives. All this and some great jokes, too!

A frequent commentator on religion in the media, Father Martin has appeared on all the major networks and in venues as diverse as Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report," NPR's "Fresh Air," and Fox TV's "The O'Reilly Factor."

Currently culture editor of America magazine, he is also the author of A Jesuit Off-Broadway, Becoming Who You Are, and This Our Exile (Orbis Books) and has written for The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and Slate.com.

Maryknoll’s interactive Museum of Living Mission will be open before and after the presentation.
