This June six Maryknoll Fathers leave for new mission assignments, and Father Hung Minh Dinh, ordained on May 31, 2008, is one of them.
Father Dinh begins his new mission with these hopeful words: "I believe I have Christ within me."
Father Dinh has had a grace-filled journey to Maryknoll. He was born in Hue, Vietnam on August 1, 1966 during the height of the Vietnam war. He immigrated to the United States where he pursued degrees in philosophy and religious studies. His call to Maryknoll soon followed.
As a seminarian Father Dinh's first mission assignment was in Tanzania where he lived among the Watatulu people. "Their lives are so simple," says Father Dinh. "They suffer from disease and hunger. But at the same time they long for something beyond the material." View a gallery of photos of Father Dinh in Overseas Training
Your gift will support Father Dinh and our other Maryknollers who are beginning new mission assignments. God protect them as they prepare to bring Christ and the sacraments to the world's poorest.
Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers serve in more than 30 countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
With your prayers and help, we will continue to deliver quality healthcare, social services, educational, and capacity-building programs to those most in need.
Father Dinh and so many more are ready to serve the Lord. You can support them in mission. Please donate now.
You play a vital part in our ability to travel to foreign lands, proclaiming the world of Jesus Christ and bringing hope and healing to our must vulnerable brothers and sisters. And it is because of your support that we can minister to the suffering poor – just as the very first Maryknoll Missioners did in 1918.
