Amazed by God's love

Why would anyone leave family, friends and homeland to live among the world's poorest people? Father Thomas McQuaid gave the answer at the mission-sending ceremony last December for five Maryknoll lay missioners and three Maryknoll Sisters heading for service in Africa, Asia and Latin America. "They are amazed by God's love and have to share it," said McQuaid, a former Maryknoll priest associate who served in Kenya and is now a pastor in Chicago. "That's what mission is all about."
The following men and women have committed themselves to spending the next three-and-a-half years sharing God’s love with people overseas as Maryknoll lay missioners.
